Victory Junction Welcomes Families Impacted by Hurricane Helene for Special Family Weekend

Families encouraged to apply for Nov. 6–8 program focused on reconnecting, recharging and creating joyful memories together

RANDLEMAN, N.C. (Aug. 25, 2026) – Victory Junction is accepting interest forms for a special family weekend designed to support families impacted by Hurricane Helene. The Helene Support Family Weekend will take place Nov. 6–8, 2026, at Victory Junction in Randleman and is totally free.

Throughout the weekend, children and families will have opportunities to enjoy many of Victory Junction’s traditional Camp activities, including archery, arts and crafts, fishing, horseback riding, bowling and more. Together, families can step away from the challenges of everyday life, reconnect and create joyful memories.

The program is open to all families impacted by Hurricane Helene. Unlike Victory Junction’s traditional Camp programs, a child does not need to have a qualifying medical condition or physical need for the family to participate.

The Family Weekend is part of WNC Thrive, a statewide effort to help children and families continue healing from Hurricane Helene. Through the initiative, Victory Junction is partnering with Trillium Health Resources to provide weekend and summer Camp experiences for families from impacted communities.

Over the past 12 months, Victory Junction has served 2,592 children from the 26 counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians identified by the state of North Carolina as impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Families interested in attending are encouraged to visit victoryjunction.org/helene to learn more and complete the Helene Family Weekend Interest Form. After the form is submitted, the Victory Junction team will provide additional information about the weekend and next steps.

Additional Helene Support Family Weekends are planned for spring 2027, with dates and application information to be announced.
Families affected by Hurricane Helene who have a child living with a complex medical condition or physical need may also apply for Victory Junction’s traditional spring, summer and fall camp programs. More information is available at victoryjunction.org/camperzone.
