Organization Overview

Victory Junction is a year-round camp facility that provides fully accessible on-site and off-site programming for children with complex medical conditions at no cost to their families. Victory Junction’s adaptive, intentional programming includes summer camp, family weekends, day programs, equine therapy, pediatric patient outreach, and partner programs. By removing all barriers, Victory Junction welcomes children with serious illnesses and chronic medical conditions to experience camp fun, all in a medically-safe environment. Victory Junction is a member of SeriousFun Children’s Network and is accredited by the American Camp Association.

Internship Description

The Media Production Intern assists with the media production and marketing efforts of Victory Junction. The internship’s primary focus is the production of the weekly camp video slideshow and assisting with photography but may involve other responsibilities as needed. The internship runs June 5 – August 4, 2023.

Opportunities

● Work as part of a collaborative team under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Media Production Specialist
● Learn video and photo editing on industry standard software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Lightroom Classic)
● Gain valuable field experience in a real-world setting

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Take photographs of campers, staff, and volunteers during scheduled activity blocks, making sure to capture all program areas, diversity of campers, staff, and volunteers
● Assist with editing photos
● Assist with video editing of weekly summer camp slide show videos and other projects as needed

Prospective interns must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and meet other medical requirements as a condition of employment.

Education and Experience

Internship candidates must be a student or recent graduate of a media production or photography college degree program and must be recommended by a faculty member in their degree concentration
Working knowledge of digital photography
Familiarity with non-linear video editing systems and thorough understanding of the concepts of video editing. Experience with Adobe Premiere is especially helpful.
Excellent organizational skills
Deadline-oriented focus with the ability to deliver work on time
Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment

Compensation

This internship is an unpaid position. Students may receive academic credit from their college for successful completion of the internship.
