Partnering to serve in new ways

Horizons Residential Care Center is a nonprofit organization in Forsyth County that came alongside Victory Junction as a partnership program in 2021 to provide day camp experiences to their residents. Their facilities provide continuous long-term care and support to up to 40 residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities, among other extensive support needs.

Over the course of 2021, Victory Junction has had the pleasure of hosting Horizons for a total of 4 day programs – two day programs this past summer in June, and two day programs this Fall – one in September and one in October. Each day program allows for 10 residents accompanied by Horizons staff to come out to camp to participate in about 10 program area activities for approximately 4-6 hours.

This new partnership has been one that has allowed us to serve a unique and very deserving population, which would not be possible without the assistance of the Horizons staff providing the necessary support on-site.

At the conclusion of our partnership with Horizons for 2021 we will have served 40 residents and their guests on-site at camp, alongside their staff.

We are looking forward to future opportunities with Horizons Residential Care Center to maintain our partnership in an effort to continue serving their residents, guests, and staff. We are also grateful that they have entrusted us to provide safe, quality programming, even during this tumultuous time.
