Forever Friends

Getting the chance to be with your best friend in a cabin during an awesome week of camp sounds too good to be true. However, campers Brett and Brandon got their wishes when they were assigned to the same cabin for their week at Victory Junction and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Brandon Bowman is 12 years old and lives in King, North Carolina, while 13-year-old Brett Blevins is from Kernersville, North Carolina. Brett came to camp this summer for his second time and was able to enjoy the week with his best friend Brandon, who attended for his very first time.

The two friends do everything together at camp, whether it is ziplining, fishing, or even being side-by-side at archery. Even though they are inseparable, they also love to include other campers and counselors in their jokes and activities. One of the best parts about Victory Junction is making lots of new friends during the week, and both Brandon and Brett have taken advantage of this opportunity.

Brandon really enjoys going to minigolf and archery, but he also loves when it comes time to head over to the dining hall, known as the Fuel Stop. “I love all of the food!” said Brandon.

Golf is what brought these two awesome boys together. Their families were good friends already and Brett and Brandon have only brought them closer. They don’t hang out too much outside of golf, but they are two peas in a pod when they find themselves playing in a tournament together.

When asked what his favorite memory of camp is, Brett said “There are just too many good parts!”

Victory Junction has allowed these two friends to become even closer and enjoy activities, meals, and everything in between. Just like our mission at Victory Junction, Brandon and Brett can have a friendship that is going on forever.
