Victory Junction is a year-round camp facility that provides fully accessible on-site and off-site programming for children with complex medical conditions at no cost to their families. Victory Junction’s adaptive, intentional programming includes summer camp, family weekends, day programs, equine therapy, pediatric patient outreach, and partner programs. By removing all barriers, Victory Junction welcomes children with serious illnesses and chronic medical conditions to experience camp fun, all in a medically-safe environment. Victory Junction is a member of SeriousFun Children’s Network and is accredited by the American Camp Association.

Job Description

The Groundskeeper provides upkeep and maintenance of buildings, vehicles, grounds and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties.
Cut lawn using hand, power or zero turn riding mower and trim ad edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitoes, wasp, ticks, and others.
Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to keep people from falling.
Below walkway of debris. Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger or safety hazard.
Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.
Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.

Education & Experience

High school diploma; plus 5+ years maintenance experience
Experience in construction, maintenance, OSHA safety standards, and groundskeeping
Demonstrated proficiency in preventative maintenance techniques
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and competency
