Victory Junction is a year-round camp facility that provides fully accessible on-site and off-site programming for children with complex medical conditions at no cost to their families. Victory Junction’s adaptive, intentional programming includes summer camp, family weekends, day programs, equine therapy, pediatric patient outreach, and partner programs. By removing all barriers, Victory Junction welcomes children with serious illnesses and chronic medical conditions to experience camp fun, all in a medically-safe environment. Victory Junction is a member of SeriousFun Children’s Network and is accredited by the American Camp Association.

Job Description

The Facilities Associate provides upkeep and maintenance of buildings, vehicles, and equipment. The Facilities Associate also helps the greater Facilities Team in performing duties in housekeeping and grounds when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
Record maintenance and repair work performed
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams
Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures
Perform grounds maintenance and mowing as needed
Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures such as sheds and out buildings
Perform housekeeping duties and laundry duties when necessary ensuring all Victory Junction buildings are cleaned so that health standards are met
Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts
Prepare rooms for meetings
Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties as needed
Request repair services as needed
Be an active team player and contribute/promote a positive, professional culture for all
Foster a culture of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Any other duties assigned

Education & Experience

High school diploma; plus 5+ years maintenance experience required
Experience in construction, maintenance, OSHA safety standards, and grounds keeping
Demonstrated proficiency in preventative maintenance techniques
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and competency
