A Chance to Be a Kid, Wherever They Are

When Victory Junction’s OUTREACH team arrives, a little bit of Camp comes with them.
Kids take the lead, choosing a craft, trying an activity or just spending time with a new friend. In a place where medical needs often determine the schedule, those choices bring an empowering dose of fun to their day.
For 22 years, thousands of children have experienced Victory Junction in Randleman, N.C. OUTREACH extends that opportunity to kids who may not be able to visit, helping Camp reach more children where they are.
“We want to take this awesome Camp experience to kids who might not make it out to us that are in the hospital,” said Jonathan Lemmon, chief operations officer at Victory Junction.
What began with visits to a couple of hospitals one or two days a week has grown into a program serving children in hospitals and clinics across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Watch the OUTREACH team in action.
Today, five team members, supported by rotating interns, provide around 10,000 Camp experiences each year. Every day, the team brings children a chance to set aside the demands of a hospital stay and spend a little time simply being themselves.
“OUTREACH matters because kids deserve a chance to be a kid, no matter where they are,” Lemmon said.
Help deliver a dose of Camp.
