RANDLEMAN, N.C. (Feb. 9, 2026) – Victory Junction will host its third annual Med Camp 101 on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., welcoming healthcare professionals to its campus in Randleman for a free, immersive educational experience focused on the power of medical specialty camps.

Designed for child life professionals, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare and human services providers, along with secondary and higher educational professionals, Med Camp 101 offers participants the opportunity to earn up to 3.75 continuing education units, while gaining firsthand insight into how Victory Junction supports children living with complex medical and physical needs through safe, inclusive, and joy-filled camp experiences.

“This is our third year hosting Med Camp 101, and it remains one of the most meaningful ways we connect with the people who send campers our way. Camp is hard to fully explain. You really have to experience it,” said Allie Hylton, Victory Junction Camper Admissions & OUTREACH Director. “Med Camp 101 gives our partners a chance to see our mission in action, build community, and work together to help open the door of camp for as many children as possible.”

Throughout the day, attendees will participate in interactive sessions that explore how medical specialty camps complement clinical care by supporting autonomy, social connection, confidence, and overall quality of life for children and families.

Programming includes a camp opening session led by Victory Junction’s Program Team, and a keynote address by Dr. Mike Kent, who will explore the value of the camp experience through both the patient and healthcare professional perspectives, examining how medically specialized camps contribute to holistic care, psychosocial development, and long-term wellbeing.

Additional sessions will address topics such as the benefits of summer camps for children with chronic and complex medical needs, fostering independence and dignity for children with spina bifida, and how intentional camp design supports caregivers and family systems. The day concludes with an expert panel discussion featuring Victory Junction leadership, offering evidence-informed perspectives on best practices in medical specialty camping.

Participants will enjoy lunch and snacks, guided camp tours, and opportunities to experience select program areas firsthand providing a deeper understanding of how camp activities are adapted to be both safe and empowering.

Med Camp 101 is sponsored by UnitedHealthcare, whose support helps make this immersive educational experience possible and strengthens connections between healthcare providers and the children and families served by Victory Junction.

Sessions are free to attend, but registration is required. For more information or to register, visit victoryjunction.org/medcamp.
