As we celebrate 20 years, we reflect on the people, memories, and milestones that make Victory Junction a place of community, joy, and unforgettable experiences.

With this year marking our 20th anniversary, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible journey that has brought us here. We want to take a moment to reflect not only on the past year, but the past two decades! Since Camp opened its gates in 2004, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming thousands of children and families into a space where they can be themselves, find support, and create lifelong friendships. We want to shine a light on the people, moments, and memories around Camp that we’re most thankful for, and what makes this place so special.

Our journey begins with our gratitude for Adam Petty, whose dream set the foundation for all that Victory Junction has become. Adam envisioned a place without barriers where kids could be themselves and simply experience the joy of being kids. The Petty family brought this vision to life, and Victory Junction has provided over 125,000 Camp experiences to children from all 50 states and four countries outside of the U.S.

While Victory Junction has created countless heartwarming experiences for children within our gates, we’ve also extended the spirit of Camp beyond our property. Victory Junction’s dedicated outreach program brings Camp magic directly to children in hospitals across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virgina who may not be able to join us on-site. This program delivers the joy of Camp through outreach carnivals, interactive games, and engaging activities. We are extremely grateful for our outreach team that creates so many special moments for children and families who may need it the most.

Campers are the heartbeat of Victory Junction.

Victory Junction would not be what it is today without the dedicated individuals who have brought Camp to life every day. Our volunteers, donors, partners, and staff have a collective passion, care, and commitment that creates a safe, joyful, and inclusive space for every camper.

We can’t express our gratitude for 20 years of VJ without mentioning how thankful we are for our campers and their families. Our campers are truly the heartbeat of Camp. We are inspired by their courage and determination, as that is what motivates all of us to continue providing a space where every child can thrive, no matter the challenges they face.

We are also grateful for the families as they trust us to be a part of their lives, allowing us to share in the smiles, milestones, and unforgettable memories at Victory Junction.

As we look ahead, we are filled with hope and excitement for the future, knowing that with the continued support of our caring communities, we will continue to create a place where children can find joy, make memories, and experience the magic of Camp. Together, we will carry Adam’s dream forward, so that Victory Junction remains a place of hope, love, and unforgettable camper experiences for many more years to come.
