Partnering to serve families

Since 2019, Trillium Health Resources has been partnering with Victory Junction to serve families from eastern North Carolina through Spring, Fall, and most recently Summer family retreat programs.

Trillium Health Resources “help eastern North Carolinians—with mental health conditions, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders—get the services they need to improve well-being and lead fulfilling lives. We are dedicated to carrying out our mission by investing in the health and well-being of the communities we serve and empowering individuals with access to services, tools, and resources to accomplish this task.” They are “committed to transforming lives and building community well-being through partnership, access to services, and proven solutions designed to help those we serve reach their fullest potential. We continue to invest in innovation to meet your unique needs and remain focused on delivering the right services, in the right amount, at the right time.” Victory Junction is just one of the many partnerships Trillium utilizes to provide life-changing experiences to members of their community.

Over the course of the last 3 years, we have successfully partnered to complete 4 weekend programs in 2019, 3 weekends in 2020, and have already completed 4 weekends for 2021 with several more to go. Trillium has been a vital partnership for Victory Junction as they were our first partner to return to on-site programming following the COVID-19 pandemic, and have continued to trust us to safely facilitate activities for their families. Each weekend has a mix of new and return families who just can’t get enough of Victory Junction!

Trillium states that, “Stigmas and public misperceptions can create isolation for those with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), I/DD, and substance use disorders. Public sites and activities that encourage participation by people of all abilities help foster familiarity and awareness that there are more similarities than differences.” Partnering with Victory Junction enables Trillium to create unique, inclusive experiences for families to bond with each other while building self-confidence and feeling empowered through participation in adaptive activities at Camp.

Our partnership with Trillium has been one that has continued to grow since 2019. We have been able to expand the number of programs we offer families each season and were even able to add in some summer experiences this year in 2021 with the adaptive approach Victory Junction took to programming in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with them in 2022 and continuing to serve new and returning families through our programs here at Victory Junction.
