What Victory Junction means to me

Adam is an amazing camper who comes to Victory Junction from Ontario, Canada. In the spring of 2018, Adam and his parents traveled 13 hours to visit VJ for the first time.

Not long into their tour, Adam repeatedly said, “Mom, I love this place. Mom, I want to come here. Mom, we have to fill out the application!”

Being big NASCAR fans and following the sport closely, Adam and his family had learned about Victory Junction many years before their visit to camp. Through Adam’s excitement during their 2018 tour, and his persistence to apply to camp, his wish was granted. The application was processed, accepted, and Adam made his way back for his first time as a VJ camper!

Adam returned to Victory Junction this past summer for his second and final season before aging out. When asked about the highlights of his camp experiences he said, “There are so many different fun activities. My favorites are archery, swimming and horseback riding. I also love how there are several evening activities like the Pit Stop and NASCARnival where campers get to witness unique experiences.” Meeting Richard Petty and Kyle Petty are also experiences at the top of Adam’s all time favorites list. He said, “l always get excited meeting the Pettys!”

“Victory Junction is like a second home. It is a place made out of love and compassion. When I come to VJ, I feel I am entering into a different world filled with happiness, equality, non-judgment, and most importantly, pure unconditional love.”

Adam continued, “One of my dreams now is to be a part of the team that continues to build on Adam Petty’s vision.” This precious camper is not wasting any time with that dream. When coming to camp this summer, he delivered several gift-in-kind items, as well as a monetary donation. For Adam’s Stage Day performance, he wrote a letter talking about his donations. Read Adam’s Letter and watch his Stage Day Video to see a portion of his presentation with his counselor. It’s an inspirational clip you DO NOT want to miss!
