Organization Overview

Victory Junction is a year-round camp facility that provides fully accessible on-site and off-site programming for children with complex medical conditions at no cost to their families. Victory Junction’s adaptive, intentional programming includes summer camp, family weekends, day programs, pediatric patient outreach, and partner programs. By removing all barriers, Victory Junction welcomes children with serious illnesses and chronic medical conditions to experience camp fun, all in a medically-safe environment. Victory Junction is a member of SeriousFun Children’s Network and is accredited by the American Camp Association.

Internship Description

The Marketing Intern assists the marketing and communications efforts of Victory Junction, adhering to our unique branding, voice, and mission.

Opportunities

● Work as part of a collaborative team under the supervision of the Marketing Specialist
● • Gain valuable career experience and advice from marketing, media, and creative design professionals in the world of nonprofits

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Respond to and interact with social media content of Victory Junction affiliated channels
● Assist in the planning and adhering to content calendars for scheduling posts on different social media platforms
● Help plan social media campaigns to reach a wider audience to increase brand awareness
Assist with outreach and content for print, broadcast, and digital news media outlets
Contribute to content ideation and creation for Victory Junction’s TikTok channel
Write, edit, and post content for the Victory Junction blog
Analyze social media trends on our content to help curate an updated social media plan
Identify ways to improve the organization’s marketing efforts through economical options
Conduct website analytics and assist with website improvement planning
Update the media contact list
Assist in other 20th anniversary related projects as needed
Other duties as required

Education and Experience

Knowledge or experience in marketing and communications, including, but not limited to being a student or graduate of a marketing, communications, or relevant college degree program or experience with social media management or copywriting
Excellent communication skills
● Knowledge of social media platforms
● Knowledge of analytics tools and how to use them
● Accomplished organizational skills
● Creative mindset
● Willingness to learn
● Ability to multitask with attention to detail
● Ability to work with others in a collaborative team environment

Compensation

This internship is a paid position. Students may also receive academic credit from their college for successful completion of the internship.
