Change a Child’s Life… And Your Own – Camp Volunteers and Summer Staff Needed

For Paige and Mallory Peterson, serving as summer staff from 2012 to 2014 left a lasting impression rooted in service and connection that not only kept them coming back as staff, but now keeps them coming back as volunteers.
At Victory Junction, volunteers and summer staff help campers discover confidence, independence, and joy, often becoming the reason a child feels brave enough to try something new. Volunteers and summer staff keep campers safe and empower them to simply be themselves. But for most volunteers and summer staff, the impact they create on a camper’s life is equal to the impact they experience personally.
For the past few years, the Peterson sisters have returned to volunteer, and they are encouraging others to join them.
Serving as a volunteer or summer staff member at Camp builds empathy, leadership, teamwork, and communication skills that extend far beyond Camp. Volunteering as Camp can strengthen resumes, careers, and personal growth – and it’s fun!
“If you consider volunteering at Victory Junction and you want to bring a friend, rope someone in your family in to come along with you because it’s double the fun when you get to share this magical place with someone you love,” said Paige.
Victory Junction tries to make volunteering and joining summer staff as easy as possible by providing free training, lodging, and meals so individuals can focus fully on the experience and the children they serve. At Victory Junction, serving isn’t just about making an impact – It’s about being part of something that stays with you and may even keep you coming back!
