THE ASSOCIATION OF HOLE IN THE WALL CAMPS

The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps is a not-for-profit umbrella organization that serves existing Hole in the Wall Camps as well as camps in formation. The association assists member camps in extending unique recreational and therapeutic camping experiences to children throughout the world free of charge.

In summer 2008, Victory Junction passed a rigorous assessment by Association examiners of 126 Medical and 129 Program criteria.

The Medical staff demonstrated that we are able to meet three major objectives: 1) Provide high-quality medical care in a child-friendly way; 2) Provide a medical center that offers a safe, nurturing, child-centered medical camp environment; and 3) Have proper medical emergency procedures in place.

On the Program side, Victory Junction met five objectives: 1) Provide a high-quality experience for children that is emotionally, psychologically, and physically safe; 2) Provide a program comprised of inclusive, accessible and child/family centered activities; 3) Employ staff with appropriate qualifications relative to their respective positions; 4) Train staff members as appropriate and assure that they are well resourced, supervised and supported; and 5) Have an organizational structure that assigns responsibilities for, and monitors compliance with, all applicable laws and regulations.
